Only read this is if you really need to know.
You will get to know me through my work when you view the gallery pages.
I’m lucky – Creating Contemporary art is my job and my living. Maestro2 graphics, however, is my hobby and my means of personal expression. I consider it a challenge to capture the essence of a figure in a composition of simple, sharp contrasting blobs of white and grey against a truly immense black background.
With flowing shapes and clear lines and with a technique which I cannot possible achieve with a brush or knife. At first the image may appear purely abstract to you and after a little while you discover more. You SEE it.
Can you imagine what happened when I showed these new and fresh graphics to my existing galleries in 1985? They felt it would confuse buyers and collectors to sell two different styles from one and the same artist. So I kept the joy of making them to myself and only presented one to a friend as a gift in 1999. It’s taken him all these years to convince me to present my graphics to the wider public.
To avoid possible disappointment from my existing customers, both galleries and collectors, he persuaded me with the promise of using a pseudonym. After numerous alternatives he came up with the internet domain maestro2 – to be frank I think it is too immodest but he knows the internet –which I don’t - and it was available, so here we are! maestro2. One day I may reveal my humble identity but for now I want my work to talk for itself, without the distraction of invitations for interviews, receptions and exhibitions where people feel the need to talk to the artist!
